Roland Schwab ist neuer Vorstand der „Jungen Neuroradiologie“
In der 58. Jahrestagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Neuroradiologie, die Anfang Oktober in Kassel stattfand, wurde Dr. med. Roland Schwab zum neuen Vorstand/Sprecher der „Jungen Neuroradiologie“ gewählt. Dr. Schwab ist Oberarzt an der Universitätsklinik für Neuroradiologie in Magdeburg, deren Leitung Prof. Dr. med. Daniel Behme obliegt. Die Klinik zeichnet sich neben der diagnostischen Neuroradiologie insbesondere durch eine große Expertise in der minimal-invasiven neuroradiologischen Therapie, sowohl in der Notfallbehandlung von Schlaganfällen als auch in der elektiven Behandlung von Aneurysmen, Gefäßstenosen und Gefäßfehlbildungen, aus. Viele der Fragestellungen werden in interdisziplinären Teams im Forschungscampus STIMULATE in der Forschungsgruppe Neuro Clinic erforscht. Die breite Expertise und die Zusammenarbeit über Einrichtungsgrenzen hinweg im Forschungscampus erleichtern und ermöglichen zudem den Transfer neuer Behandlungsverfahren in die Klinik.
Das Hauptforschungsinteresse von Dr. Schwab gilt dem Thema „zerebrovaskuläre Erkrankungen und deren minimal-invasive Therapie“. Zu seinen Aufgaben als Vorsitzender der Jungen Neuroradiologie (JuNRAD) gehören die Koordination des Sprecherteams sowie die ständige Vertretung der Jungen Neuroradiologie im Vorstand der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Neuroradiologie.

Roland Schwab is the new chairman of "Young Neuroradiology"
At the 58th annual meeting of the German Society of Neuroradiology, which took place in Kassel at the beginning of October, Dr. med. Roland Schwab was elected as the new chairman/spokesman of "Young Neuroradiology". Dr. Schwab is a senior physician at the University Clinic for Neuroradiology in Magdeburg, which is headed by Prof. Dr. Daniel Behme. In addition to diagnostic neuroradiology, the clinic is characterized in particular by its great expertise in minimally invasive neuroradiological therapy, both in the emergency treatment of strokes and in the elective treatment of aneurysms, vascular stenoses and vascular malformations. Many of the issues are researched in interdisciplinary teams at the Research Campus STIMULATE in the Neuro Clinic research group. The broad expertise and cooperation across institutional boundaries in the Research Campus also facilitate and enable the transfer of new treatment methods to the clinic.
Dr. Schwab's main research interest is in the field of cerebrovascular diseases and their minimally invasive therapy. His tasks as Chairman of the Young Neuroradiology (JuNRAD) include the coordination of the speaker team and the permanent representation of the Young Neuroradiology on the board of the German Society of Neuroradiology.
