Zwei Auszeichnungen zum Top Downloaded Article 2021

Die Mitarbeitenden der STIMULATE-Forschungsgruppe „Medical Flows“ dürfen sich gleich über zwei Auszeichnungen als meist heruntergeladene Publikationen im Jahr 2021 in den renommierten Fachjournalen „Magnetic Resonance Imaging“ (Impact Factor 5.1) und „Medical Physics“ (Impact Factor 4.5) freuen.

Unter der Leitung von PD Dr. Philipp Berg befasst sich die Arbeitsgruppe u.a. mit der Erforschung von Aneurysmen. Ein Aneurysma ist eine lokale Aussackung eines Blutgefäßes, die sich aufgrund einer Schwächung oder Schädigung der Gefäßwand entwickelt. Reißt ein Aneurysma (Ruptur), kann eine lebensgefährliche innere Blutung entstehen. Die Forschungsgruppe fokussiert sich insbesondere auf die Beurteilung des Rupturrisikos mithilfe von bildgebenden Verfahren und Simulationen des Blutflusses. Einige Forschungsarbeiten erfolgten dabei auch mithilfe von internationalen Kooperationen, u.a. mit der Universität Wisconsin, der Universität Colorado und der Universitätsklinik Schleswig-Holstein.

Aus den Kooperationsarbeiten resultierten Forschungsergebnisse, die 2021 veröffentlicht wurden:

Two awards for Top Downloaded Article 2021

The members of the STIMULATE research group "Medical Flows" are pleased to receive two awards for the most downloaded publications in 2021 in the renowned journals "Magnetic Resonance Imaging" (impact factor 5.1) and "Medical Physics" (impact factor 4.5).

Under the leadership of PD Dr. Philipp Berg, the research group is involved in the study of aneurysms, among other things. An aneurysm is a local bulge in a blood vessel that develops due to weakening or damage to the vessel wall. If an aneurysm ruptures, life-threatening internal bleeding can result. The research group focuses in particular on assessing the risk of rupture using imaging techniques and simulations of blood flow. Some of the research work has also been carried out with the help of international collaborations with the University of Wisconsin, the University of Colorado and the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, among others.

The collaborative work resulted in research findings that were published in 2021:
